About the information on this site

The guides on this site are general information about gutters and roof drainage in the Charlotte area. They are not engineering advice, not legal advice, and not a substitute for the published requirements of any authority. Where we describe what an ordinance, a code table or a commission requires, we name the source so you can check it. Those documents are amended over time and the authority's own current version governs, not our description of it.

Licensing

North Carolina does not license gutter cleaning. The state's general contractor licensing statute applies to construction work at or above a statutory threshold, which routine residential gutter work does not approach. Where a project - for example a combined contract across a large community - does reach that threshold, that work is performed by an appropriately licensed general contractor.

Any price ranges shown on this site are indicative of the local market and are not offers. Work is quoted for a specific property after inspection.

Accuracy and corrections

We make a genuine effort to source what we publish, and we date the figures that go stale. If you find something incorrect, tell us through the contact page and we will fix it rather than defend it.
